A Collection of my Journey through the Viewport

With this piece I wanted to create a dynamic scene based around medieval fantasy and this is what I came up with. Water and fish flow out of the sword in the direction of the blades swing from its unsheathing, representing a stream-like flow of the blade. Overall, I'm pretty proud of it.

This piece is about the death of a man who was addicted to smelling everything. How ironic that his death would be caused by a banana in the end. Although it is a very weird concept, at the end of the day I love how this came out and am sure that if it were on display, it would, out of all of these pieces, get the most second or third glances from people and open a conflict between what art can look like versus what art should look like.

These next two pieces are the same piece shot from differing angles, which give off a completely different experience in the enjoyment of this piece. The top image gives off a much stronger focus on the relationship between the UFO and the house. It gives off a feeling of complexity and analysis, over the simple low poly aesthetic of the house, as well as how insignificant the man is in comparison to the grandiose of the UFO. As for the lower image on the other hand, the piece more heavily emphasizes the man's panic and distress over his home being taken away from him and picking up the pace and panic from his usually slow and peaceful life.

This next piece is a pretty simple but effective piece relating death to smoking. Honestly, in my life too many people have died of causes related to smoking, so in general this piece comes from a lot of pain and anger at smoking in general. Overall, with this piece I was trying to give off the feeling of, although smoking is a very attractive concept to some, it does eventually lead to too much pain and suffering. I think this piece conveys that all too well.

This piece is meant to convey fear, dominance, worship and giving up. What else can a human do against a being so much higher then them than to give up completely. The real power in this piece comes, yet again from the camera angle I chose for it. from any other perspective a narrative completely different from this could have been formed, but because of how this angle is specifically structured to give the stone guardian that much more imposing with a close-up shot of the woman hunched over kneeling, it gives a much more imposing and dominating feeling towards the dynamic between the guardian and the human. Overall, a really imposing piece.

This piece is meant to be a play on the Starbucks branding. I've never really thought about why Starbucks chose for their logo to be a mermaid of all things, since they're a coffee company, however, maybe the thought of drinking a mermaid in between their sips of coffee amused them. I love how this piece almost represents the freedom of the mermaid from the small confines of the coffee cup into the wide expanse of the endless world that is the viewport. Overall, although one of the pieces I probably could have done more with, I am happy with the final result.

This piece represents coziness and comfort, as well as dreams. I always envision comfort as a cloud, since I find comfort in my dreams and softness. I also find cats to work well with the idea of comfort as they are usually, in my mind, much more relaxed then any other pet and look very cozy when they're asleep, which brings back the concept of sleep and dreams. Honestly, although I know I could have done more with this concept, I am still happy with how this one turned out.

This piece represents decay and new life in death. The Iron Giant is a classic in media, so much so that you don't even have to have watched the movie to know of at least the name. The fact that so little have watched the origins of the Iron Giant, yet know of the name was what sparked this piece. The name is still heard often and the design of the Iron Giant is so iconic that it is still used in countless media to this day. They say that you never truly die until you are forgotten. In a sense, the Iron Giant will live on for years to come, it's past long forgotten. Constantly in a state of decay, as new media takes its place in the minds of a newer generation. Overall, I'm really happy with how this piece turned out.

This is a piece meant to signify how absolute power corrupts absolutely. No matter who you are, where you started, or where your initial intentions once stood, once you gain power, the most evil parts of you begin to make themselves known. A crown and throne is not something which symbolizes authority, but instead corruption. That is what this piece signifies, and I believe that, although I could have spent more time polishing up the piece for better readability, I'm happy with the concept.

For this last piece, I wanted to signify rage, fighting and a bit of weirdness. I chose this angle because it allows you to get the best parts of each model while also enhancing the dynamic nature of this battle between a shark and an orca. I loved the idea of an underwater skirmish between to, usually naturally bestial hunters fighting for their territory, however, this time equipped with high tech weaponry for that added sense of intensity in the air. Overall, a simply piece, but a piece I am nonetheless proud of
