Dance of the Waterweaver

the real greatness of this piece comes from the juxtaposition of the blade. A sword is something meant to kill, and with how the pose of the woman is very dynamic, it only adds to the notion that this is a blade meant to end the life of another, however, the blade also houses the lives of fish, and is created of water, a necessity for life. To use life to take life, to give water and to take it away. This paradoxical behavior of the sword elevates it's tranquility and suspense simultaneously, truly giving it the feeling of a fantasy.

This Waterwoven dance is something I am very proud of. At the beginning, without the renders it was hard to differentiate and identify the fish because it was all one solid color. With the render, that issue is fixed thanks to the wide array of color and lighting bouncing around the fish, really giving each one it's own identifiable properties. However, what I'm most proud of is the woman. at first she was one complete mesh, however, thanks to some helpful advice from Mr. Ball, I was able to separate the hands, face and ears from the rest of the mesh, giving me the ability to create separate textures for the skin, hair and clothes, really making the final piece feel that much more polished. Overall, I'm really proud of these renders, and can't wait to do more!
